Welcome to Bikeandski-Vercors, home to some of the best road cycling, mountain biking and cross country skiing in the alpine region of France.

We provide tours, training and trips to cycling events throughout the region. Whether you want to bike, ski, or, do both if you want to keep fit all year round, then come and enjoy the physical challenges we have on offer whilst enjoying the breathtaking beauty of the Vercors region around you.

I'm Ed Nicoll, and as a former international athlete and coach, I understand the importance of flexibility in adapting activities to whatever mix you need to excel in your chosen sport.

If road riding is your choice then we can take you on many of the Tour de France routes and cols and get you involved in great events from local races to cyclo-sportives.

For winter training, I would personally recommend cross country skiing (xc) to every endurance athlete. As a former Olympic and World Championship bi-athlete I have felt the physical and mental benefits of combining bike riding in the spring and summer with skiing in the winter. As a four times cross country national champion and nordic ski instructor with both British and French qualifications, I can help you develop your fitness and skills on skis, no matter what your level.

All our activities, whether it is road riding, mountain biking or cross country skiing, are based around the villages of Autrans, Méaudre, Lans en Vercors and Villard de Lans. Our guided training camps and tours are designed for anyone interested in endurance exercise in a mountainous environment. The cycling disciplines cover the cols of the high altitude plateau in the Vercors and climb through the mountain gorges typical of the region.

We are experienced and flexible to provide for individuals, clubs and racing teams. Alternatively, you can just come and ride and watch one of the major cycling events passing through the area. Lance Armstrong won the Tour de France stage finish to the ski station at Villard de Lans in 2004 and the region hosts the professional peloton for the Criterium Dauphiné and Classique des Alpes.

For those wishing to participate in one of the many sporting events in the Grenoble area we intentionally plan many of our camps and tours to coincide with these competitions. For road cyclists these may include the cyclosportives Challenge Dauphiné, La Marmotte and Vercors-Drome. Mountain bike events include the UCI MTB Marathon World Cup at Oisans. There is also the famous Transvercors VTT and the popular Roc d'Azur. For cross country skiers, every winter Autrans hosts the annual Foulée Blanche ski marathon (42km skating/freestyle) now in its 29th year.

So, whatever the season, whatever your sport, come and join us in the Vercors for some quality endurance training. However, be warned, you might decide to stay for good.......just like I did!
